4. Consultations and Treatment Planning

4.1 Online Consultations

We offer free online consultations for international patients. When you request a consultation:

You will provide your dental records, X-rays, CT scans, and/or photographs as requested

Our dental team will review your information and provide an initial assessment

We will provide a treatment plan with estimated costs and treatment timeline

The consultation is for informational purposes and does not constitute a diagnosis or guarantee of treatment outcome

4.2 Treatment Plans

Treatment plans provided after consultation:

Are based on the information you provide and may change after an in-person examination

Include estimated costs that are valid for 30 days from the date of the quote

Are not a guarantee that the exact treatment will be performed — your dentist may recommend modifications after examination

Do not guarantee a specific aesthetic outcome — we will discuss realistic expectations during consultation

4.3 In-Person Examination

A comprehensive in-person examination is required before any treatment is performed. This examination may reveal conditions not visible in the records you provided (e.g., bone density, gum health, hidden decay). If the in-person examination results in a change to your treatment plan, we will discuss the changes with you and obtain your consent before proceeding (see our Refund Policy for details on treatment changes).

5. Medical Disclaimer and Informed Consent

5.1 No Medical Advice on Website

The content on our website, including blog posts, FAQs, treatment descriptions, and patient guides, is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Always seek the advice of a qualified dentist or physician with any questions you may have regarding a medical or dental condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read on our website.

5.2 Treatment Risks and Complications

All dental procedures carry potential risks and complications, which may include but are not limited to:

Implant surgery: Infection, bleeding, swelling, pain, nerve damage, sinus perforation, implant failure, bone loss, allergic reaction to materials

Veneers and crowns: Tooth sensitivity, gum irritation, chipping or cracking, discoloration at margins, need for root canal treatment, damage to adjacent teeth

Root canal treatment: Pain, swelling, infection, instrument fracture, perforation, need for retreatment or extraction

Tooth extraction: Pain, bleeding, swelling, dry socket, infection, nerve damage, adjacent tooth damage, sinus communication

Teeth whitening: Tooth sensitivity, gum irritation, uneven whitening, temporary discomfort

All-on-4 / full mouth reconstruction: All of the above risks, plus extended recovery time, speech changes, difficulty eating during healing, need for multiple procedures

We will discuss the specific risks associated with your treatment during your consultation and before you sign a consent form. You should also discuss any concerns with your dentist and ask questions until you fully understand the risks, benefits, and alternatives.

5.3 Informed Consent

Before any treatment is performed, you will be required to sign an informed consent form. By signing, you acknowledge that:

You have been informed of the nature, purpose, risks, benefits, and alternatives to the proposed treatment

You have had the opportunity to ask questions and all your questions have been answered to your satisfaction

You understand that no guarantee can be made regarding the outcome of treatment

You consent to the performance of the proposed treatment

You understand that you may withdraw your consent at any time before treatment begins

For patients who do not speak Chinese fluently, the consent form will be provided in English, and a translator will be available to explain any terms you do not understand.

5.4 No Guarantee of Outcome

While we strive to provide the highest quality dental care, we cannot and do not guarantee specific treatment outcomes. Dental treatment results depend on many factors, including:

Your individual oral health and bone quality

Your adherence to post-treatment care instructions

Your overall health and medical conditions

Factors beyond our control (e.g., your body’s healing response)

Before/after photos and patient testimonials on our website represent the results achieved by specific patients and do not guarantee that you will achieve the same results. Your results may differ.

5.5 Your Responsibility for Your Health

You are responsible for:

Providing accurate and complete information about your medical history, medications, allergies, and dental health

Disclosing any changes in your health status before and during treatment

Following pre-treatment and post-treatment instructions provided by your dentist

Attending all scheduled appointments and follow-up visits

Maintaining good oral hygiene (brushing, flossing, regular dental cleanings)

Seeking prompt medical attention if you experience complications or unusual symptoms after treatment

Failure to provide accurate information or follow instructions may affect treatment outcomes and may void your warranty.

6. Booking and Payment

6.1 Booking Process

To book treatment with us:

You will receive a treatment plan and quote after consultation

You will confirm your acceptance of the treatment plan and your desired treatment dates

You will pay the required deposit (see our Refund Policy for deposit amounts)

We will confirm your booking and send you a booking confirmation with your treatment schedule, hotel details, and arrival instructions

Your booking is confirmed only after we receive your deposit and send you a written confirmation.

6.2 Payment Terms

Deposit: Required at the time of booking (20-30% of total cost, depending on treatment type)

Balance: Due on the first day of treatment, before any surgical procedures begin

Additional treatment: If additional treatment is recommended after examination, payment for additional treatment is due before that treatment is performed

Accepted payment methods: Bank transfer, credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), PayPal, cash (USD, EUR, CNY)

Credit card processing fee: 3% surcharge for credit card payments

Currency: Prices are quoted in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise specified. Payment in other currencies will be converted at the prevailing exchange rate on the date of payment

6.3 Price Changes

Prices quoted in your treatment plan are valid for 30 days. If you book within 30 days, the quoted price is guaranteed. If you book after 30 days, prices may have changed, and we will provide an updated quote.

Once your booking is confirmed and deposit received, the price of your treatment plan is locked in and will not change, except for:

Additional treatment you request or that is found to be necessary after examination (with your consent)

Changes you request to your treatment plan or package

Taxes or government-imposed fees that come into effect after booking

6.4 Late Payments

If the balance is not paid on the first day of treatment:

We may delay or reschedule your treatment until payment is received

You may be charged a late payment fee of 1.5% per month on the outstanding balance

We reserve the right to cancel your booking if payment is not received within 7 days of the due date

7. Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellations and refunds are governed by our separate Refund & Cancellation Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Key points include:

Deposits are refundable according to a tiered cancellation timeline (100% if cancelled more than 30 days before arrival, decreasing to 0% for no-shows)

Treatment not performed is always refundable, minus costs already incurred

Completed treatment is generally non-refundable, subject to our warranty policy

Travel and accommodation costs are generally non-refundable through us

Please refer to our full Refund & Cancellation Policy for complete details.

8. Patient Responsibilities

As a patient at our clinic, you are responsible for:

8.1 Before Treatment

Providing accurate and complete medical and dental history

Disclosing all medications, supplements, and allergies

Informing us of any changes in your health before treatment

Following pre-treatment instructions (e.g., fasting before sedation, stopping certain medications as directed)

Arranging your travel to Wuhan and ensuring you have valid travel documents (passport, visa)

Purchasing travel insurance (strongly recommended)

8.2 During Treatment

Attending all scheduled appointments on time

Following your dentist’s instructions during treatment

Informing your dentist immediately if you experience pain, discomfort, or any concerns during treatment

Respecting clinic staff, other patients, and clinic property

Paying for treatment as agreed

Not smoking in the clinic or hotel (and ideally not smoking at all during healing — see Section 9)

8.3 After Treatment

Following all post-treatment care instructions

Taking prescribed medications as directed

Attending all follow-up appointments while in Wuhan

Maintaining good oral hygiene

Scheduling and attending regular dental check-ups with your local dentist after returning home

Contacting us promptly if you experience any complications or concerns after returning home

Not smoking (smoking significantly increases the risk of implant failure and other complications)

8.4 Conduct

You agree to:

Treat our staff, dentists, and other patients with respect and dignity

Not engage in abusive, threatening, or disruptive behavior

Not use our clinic premises for any unlawful purpose

Comply with all clinic rules and regulations communicated to you

Not photograph or record other patients or staff without their consent

We reserve the right to refuse treatment or terminate the patient-clinic relationship if a patient engages in abusive, threatening, or disruptive behavior, or if we determine that continuing treatment is not in the best interests of the patient or our staff.

9. Smoking and Lifestyle Disclaimer

Smoking has a significant negative impact on dental treatment outcomes, particularly for implants and oral surgery. By booking treatment with us, you acknowledge and agree that:

9.1 Risks of Smoking

Implant failure: Smoking is the leading cause of dental implant failure. Smokers have a 2-3 times higher risk of implant failure compared to non-smokers.

Delayed healing: Smoking reduces blood flow to the gums and bone, significantly slowing the healing process after surgery.

Infection risk: Smokers have a higher risk of post-operative infections and complications.

Bone loss: Smoking contributes to bone loss around teeth and implants, potentially leading to implant failure over time.

Gum disease: Smoking is a major risk factor for periodontal (gum) disease, which can compromise the success of dental work.

Aesthetic outcomes: Smoking can cause discoloration of veneers, crowns, and natural teeth, affecting the aesthetic outcome of your treatment.

9.2 Our Recommendation

We strongly recommend that you:

Quit smoking entirely before treatment, if possible

At minimum, refrain from smoking for at least 2 weeks before surgery and for at least 8 weeks after surgery (ideally 3 months for implants)

Use nicotine replacement therapy (patches, gum) if needed to help you refrain from smoking during the healing period

Disclose your smoking history honestly during consultation, as it affects treatment planning and prognosis

9.3 Warranty Exclusion

Smoking-related implant failures, healing complications, and treatment outcomes are not covered under our warranty policy. If you are a smoker and experience implant failure or other complications that can be attributed to smoking, we may offer treatment at a discounted rate but cannot guarantee free replacement under warranty.

We will always be honest with you about how smoking may affect your treatment and will work with you to achieve the best possible outcome. However, we cannot be held responsible for complications directly caused by smoking.
